Under Part II of Schedule 8 to the Local Government Finance Act 1988, billing authorities are required to pay amounts (called non-domestic rating contributions) to the Secretary of State. Payments in respect of a provisional amount of the contributions are made during the financial year, final calculations and any adjustments of payments being made after the year ends.
These Regulations may be cited as the Non-Domestic Rating Contributions (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 31st December 2000.
Schedules 1 and 2 to the Non-Domestic Rating Contributions (England) Regulations 1992 are amended as follows in relation to financial years beginning on or after 1st April 2001.
In Schedule 1—
(a) in paragraph 1(4), for “2000” there is substituted “2001”;
(b) in paragraph 4(4), for “2000 is £83,476,000” there is substituted “2001 is £83,597,000”;
(c) for Part II there is substituted—

In relation to financial years beginning on or after 1st April 2001, in Schedule 2—
(a) for paragraph 2(12) there is substituted the following—
(12) It shall be assumed that the amount calculated for the authority in accordance with the assumptions prescribed in sub-paragraphs (1) to (11) above is the total of the amount so calculated multiplied by 0.977.
