Article 12
1. In addition to the requirements of Article 10, notifications of food produced from GMOs which have been placed on the market in accordance with Article 5 of Regulation (EC) No 258/97 shall include a copy of the original notification letter to the Commission. 2. The date of the letter from the Commission forwarding the original notification to the Member States shall be considered to be the date on which the product was first placed on the market, unless the notifier provides verifiable proof that it was first placed on the market at a later date.
