Article 4
Notwithstanding the first sentence of the first paragraph of Article 3, officials aged over 55 authorised to work half time in preparation for retirement shall receive a reduced basic salary equal to the higher of the two amounts obtained by applying the following percentages to the full-time basic salary: (a) either 60 %; (b) or the percentage corresponding to years of service within the meaning of Articles 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 and 9a of Annex VIII at the beginning of the period of half-time work, plus 10 %. Officials who make an application under this Article shall be required, when they cease to work half-time, either to retire or to repay the amount exceeding 50 % of the basic salary received during the period of half-time work.
