Eligibility of value added tax

Article 48

1.   Value added tax shall not be eligible for support, except where it is not recoverable under the applicable national VAT legislation when it is genuinely and definitively borne by beneficiaries other than the non-taxable persons referred to in the first subparagraph of Article 13(1) of Council Directive 2006/112/EC  ( 12 ) . 2.   In order for non-recoverable VAT to be eligible, a certified accountant or statutory auditor of the beneficiary shall show that the amount paid has not been recovered and is entered as a charge in the beneficiary's accounts.
