An Act to provide for standard time throughout Malaysia. (lst January 1982.] BE IT ENACTED by the Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong witl the advice and consent of the Dewan Negara anc Dewan Rakyat in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: Standard Time Act 1981 and shall apply throughout Malaysia. (2) This Act shall come into force on Ist January 1982. (3) Foi the purpose of this Act, Ist January 1982 shalt co amernoenght hoenwich dreane oime on cloisk in the afternoon December 1981. 2. (1) Ihe time for general purposes throughout Malaysian Malaysia (to be known as Malaysian standard time) standard shall be eight hours in advance of Greenwich mean time throughout the year; and any reference to a specified point of time in any written law or any document whatsoever (whether made before or after the coming into force of this Act) shall be construed accordingly unless it is otherwise expressly provided. (2) The Yang di-Pertuan Agong may from time to time by noΘ›ification in the Gazette prescribe such other period in advance of Greenwich mean time to be Malaysian standard time.
