s 5 Appointment of Director General and Deputy Director Generals

(1) The Yang di-Pertuan Agong may appoint a Director General for Orang Asli Affairs, and as many Deputy Director Generals for Orang Asli Affairs and other officers as he may consider necessary for the purposes of this Act. (2) It shall be lawful for the Director General to do all acts reasonably necessary and incidental to or connected with the performance of his functions under this Act including the conducting of research into any aspects of aboriginal life. (3) All the powers of the Director General under this Act shall be exercisable by the Deputy Director Generals. (4) Every person appointed under this section shall be deemed to be a public servant within the meaning of the Penal Code [Act 574].

Pelantikan Ketua Pengarah dan Timbalan Ketua Pengarah

(1) Yang di-Pertuan Agong boleh melantik seorang Ketua Pengarah bagi Hal Ehwal Orang Asli, dan seberapa ramai Timbalan Ketua Pengarah bagi Hal Ehwal Orang Asli dan pegawai lain sebagaimana yang difikirkannya perlu bagi maksud Akta ini. (2) Menjadi sah bagi Ketua Pengarah untuk melakukan segala perbuatan yang semunasabahnya perlu dan bersampingan atau berkaitan dengan pelaksanaan fungsinya di bawah Akta ini termasuk penjalanan penyelidikan terhadap apa-apa aspek kehidupan orang asli. (3) Semua kuasa Ketua Pengarah di bawah Akta ini boleh dijalankan oleh Timbalan Ketua Pengarah. (4) Tiap-tiap orang yang dilantik di bawah seksyen ini hendaklah disifatkan sebagai pekhidmat awam dalam pengertian Kanun Keseksaan [Akta 574].
