Educational Institutions (Discipline) Act 1976 s 17
s 17 Students who are members of an existing society
(1) Where immediately before the commencement of this Act a student of an Institution was a member of any society registered under the *Societies Act 1966 [Act 335], he shall, as from the date of commencement of this Act, cease to be a member thereof unless, within fourteen days after the said date, he obtains the approval in writing of the Minister to continue to be a member thereof.
(2) An office-bearer of any society which, after the expiry of fourteen days from the commencement of this Act, purports to have a student of an Institution as its member in contravention of subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to be punished with a fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit.

Pelajar yang menjadi anggota persatuan yang sedia ada
(1) Jika sebelum sahaja mula berkuat kuasanya Akta ini seseorang pelajar sesuatu Institusi adalah seorang anggota mana-mana persatuan yang didaftarkan di bawah *Akta Pertubuhan 1966 [Akta 335], dia hendaklah, dari tarikh mula berkuat kuasanya Akta ini, terhenti menjadi anggotanya melainkan jika, dalam masa empat belas hari selepas tarikh tersebut, dia mendapat kelulusan Menteri secara bertulis untuk terus menjadi anggotanya.
(2) Seseorang pemegang jawatan mana-mana persatuan yang, selepas tamat tempoh empat belas hari dari mula berkuat kuasanya Akta ini, berupa sebagai ada seseorang pelajar sesuatu Institusi sebagai anggotanya berlanggaran dengan subseksyen (1) adalah bersalah atas suatu kesalahan dan apabila disabitkan, boleh dihukum denda tidak lebih daripada satu ribu ringgit.
