s 4 Registrar, Deputy Registrars and Assistant Registrars
(1) The Director General of the Corporation shall be the Registrar of Trade Marks.
(2) The Corporation may appoint, on such terms and conditions as it may determine, from amongst persons in the employment of the Corporation, such number of Deputy Registrars of Trade Marks, Assistant Registrars of Trade Marks and other officers as may be necessary for the proper administration of this Act, and may revoke the appointment of any person so appointed or deemed to have been so appointed under subsection (3).
(3) The persons holding office as Deputy Registrars, Assistant Registrars and other officers under this Act before the appointed date who were given an option by the Government of Malaysia to serve as employees of the Corporation and have so opted shall on the appointed date be deemed to have been appointed as Deputy Registrars, Assistant Registrars and such other officers under subsection (2).
(4) Subject to the general direction and control of the Registrar and to such conditions or restrictions as may be imposed by the Registrar, a Deputy Registrar or an Assistant Registrar may exercise any function of the Registrar under this Act, and anything by this Act appointed or authorized or required to be done or signed by the Registrar may be done or signed by any Deputy Registrar or Assistant Registrar and the act or signature of a Deputy Registrar or an Assistant Registrar shall be as valid and effectual as if done or signed by the Registrar.
(5) The Registrar shall have a seal of such device as may be approved by the Corporation and the impressions of such seal shall be judicially noticed and admitted in evidence.
Protection of officers 4 A. No action or prosecution shall be brought, instituted or maintained in any Court againstβ
(a) the Registrar of Trade Marks;
(b) a Deputy Registrar of Trade Marks; or
(c) an Assistant Registrar of Trade Marks, for any act or omission done in good faith in the performance of his functions and the exercise of his powers under this Act.

Pendaftar, Timbalan Pendaftar dan Penolong Pendaftar
(1) Ketua Pengarah Perbadanan hendaklah menjadi Pendaftar Cap Dagangan.
(2) Perbadanan boleh melantik, atas apa-apa terma dan syarat yang ditentukannya, daripada kalangan orang dalam penggajian Perbadanan, apa-apa bilangan Timbalan Pendaftar Cap Dagangan, Penolong Pendaftar Cap Dagangan dan pegawai lain yang perlu bagi pentadbiran yang sepatutnya Akta ini, dan boleh membatalkan pelantikan mana-mana orang yang dilantik sedemikian atau disifatkan telah dilantik sedemikian di bawah subseksyen (3).
(3) Orang yang memegang jawatan sebagai Timbalan Pendaftar, Penolong Pendaftar dan pegawai lain di bawah Akta ini sebelum tarikh yang ditetapkan yang telah diberi pilihan oleh Kerajaan Malaysia untuk berkhidmat sebagai pekerja Perbadanan dan telah memilih sedemikian hendaklah pada tarikh yang ditetapkan disifatkan telah dilantik sebagai Timbalan Pendaftar, Penolong Pendaftar dan pegawai lain sedemikian di bawah subseksyen (2).
(4) Tertakluk kepada arahan dan kawalan am Pendaftar dan kepada apa-apa syarat atau sekatan yang dikenakan oleh Pendaftar, seseorang Timbalan Pendaftar atau seseorang Penolong Pendaftar boleh menjalankan apa-apa fungsi Pendaftar di bawah Akta ini, dan apa-apa jua yang ditetapkan atau diberi kuasa atau dikehendaki oleh Akta ini supaya dilakukan atau ditandatangani oleh Pendaftar boleh dilakukan atau ditandatangani oleh mana-mana Timbalan Pendaftar atau Penolong Pendaftar dan perbuatan atau tandatangan seseorang Timbalan Pendaftar atau seseorang Penolong Pendaftar hendaklah sama sah dan kuat kuasanya seolah-olah telah dilakukan atau ditandatangani oleh Pendaftar.
(5) Pendaftar hendaklah mempunyai meterai dengan reka bentuk yang diluluskan oleh Perbadanan dan teraan meterai itu hendaklah diberi pengiktirafan kehakiman dan diterima sebagai keterangan.
