Statutory and Local Authorities Superannuation Fund Act 1977 s 26
Sections 3–10 were repealed by later amendments.
s 26 Compulsory retirement
An appropriate authority may require any employee to retire from its service—
(a) upon attaining the age of *fifty five years;
(b) on medical evidence acceptable to the appropriate authority that he is incapable of discharging the duties of his office, by reason of infirmity of mind or body likely to be permanent;
(c) on the abolition of his office;
(d) on the termination of his employment in the public interest; or
(e) for the purpose of facilitating improvement in the organization of the statutory or local authority to which he belongs by which greater efficiency or economy may be effected.

Persaraan paksa
Sesuatu pihak berkuasa yang berkenaan boleh menghendaki seseorang pekerja bersara daripada perkhidmatan pihak berkuasa itu—
(a) apabila ia mencapai umur *lima puluh lima tahun;
(b) berdasarkan keterangan doktor yang boleh diterima oleh pihak berkuasa yang berkenaan bahawa ia tidak berupaya menunaikan kewajipan jawatannya, disebabkan oleh kelemahan akal atau tubuh yang mungkin menjadi kekal;
(c) apabila jawatannya dihapuskan;
(d) apabila ditamatkan pekerjaannya demi kepentingan awam; atau
(e) bagi maksud supaya organisasi pihak berkuasa berkanun atau tempatan di mana ia bekerja itu mudah diperbaiki dan dengan itu terhasil kecekapan atau keekonomian yang lebih lagi.
