Distress Act 1951 s 6
s 6 Provision for distress by one of joint owners
Where a right to a distraint accrues to persons jointly or together interested in any premises, such right may be exercised by any one of such persons in his own name and the names of those jointly or together interested with him, and the levy shall be a complete discharge to the defendant for the amount recovered; but the Judge or Registrar may in any case require the party so applying to produce a written authority to distrain, signed by the other persons jointly or together interested with him.

Peruntukkan bagi distres oleh salah seorang pemunya bersesama
Jika suatu hak kepada suatu tahanan harta terakru kepada orangorang bersesama atau bersama-sama berkepentingan dalam manamana premis, hak itu boleh dijalankan oleh salah seorang daripada orang-orang itu di atas namanya sendiri dan nama-nama mereka yang mempunyai kepentingan bersesama atau bersama-sama dengannya, dan pengenaan itu adalah suatu penjelasan yang cukup kepada defendan bagi amaun yang didapati itu; tetapi Hakim atau Pendaftar boleh dalam apa-apa keadaan memerlukan pihak yang memohon itu mengemukakan suatu kuasa bertulis untuk menahan harta, yang ditandatangani oleh orang-orang lain yang bersesama atau bersamasama berkepentingan dengannya.
