s 14 Power of Director General to make inquiries
Where an application is made under section 13 the Director General of Legal Aid may—
(a) make such inquiries as he thinks fit as to the means and conditions of the applicant and as to the merits of the case or refer the application to the Director of Social Welfare for a report on the means of the applicant;
(b) require the applicant to furnish such information and such documents as the Director General may require for the purpose of considering the application;
(c) require the applicant to attend personally;
(d) refer the application or any matter arising out of the application to any solicitor whose name is on the appropriate panel maintained pursuant to section 5 to investigate the facts and make a report thereon or to give any opinion thereon or on any question of law arising out of the application;
(e) take or cause to be taken such steps as may be necessary to conserve the interests of the applicant pending determination of his application;
(f) defray expenses incidental to any of the foregoing matters out of moneys provided for the purpose.

Jika Sq-suatu permohonan di-buat di-bawah sekshen 13 Kuasa maka/Pengarah Bantuan Guaman boleh- Pengarah membuat
(a) membuat apa- siasatan yang di-fikirkan-nya patut siasatan. nengenai kemampuan dan keadaan pemohon itı Sub-AA 1188/03 dan mengenaï patut tidak-nya kes itu atau merujokkan permohonan itu kapada Pengarah Kebajikan Masharakat untok suatu laporan mengenaï kemampuan pemohon itu;
(b) menghendaki pemohon memberi apa2 maklumat dąltapa‹ suratan sa-bagaimana di-kehendaki oleh KPengarah bagi maksud menimbangkan permohonan sub4A18963
(c) menghendaki pemohon itu hadhir sendiri;
(d) merujokkan permohonan itu atau apa2 perkara teguam yipaae mmanan • itu kapada mana' berkenaan yang di-senggara menturut snel eang untok menyiasat nyataan2 dan membuat suatu laporan mengenai-nya atau untok memberi apa2 endapat mengenai-nya atau mengenai apa‹ soa ındang2 terbit daripada permohonan itu
(e) mengambil atau mengarah di-ambil apa? langkah yang perlu bagi memelihara kepentingan2 pemohon itu sementara menantı keputusan permohonannya;

(f) membayar belanja- yang bersampingan dengan mana- perkara di-atas daripada wang yang di peruntokkan bagi maksud itu.
