s 22 Protection of informers
(1) Except as hereinafter mentioned no information laid under this Act shall be admitted in evidence in any civil or criminal proceeding whatsoever and no witness shall be obliged or permitted to disclose the name or address of any informer under this Act or to state any matter which might lead to his discovery.
(2) If any books, documents, or papers which are in evidence or liable to inspection in any civil or criminal proceeding whatsoever contain any entry in which any informer is named or described or which might lead to his discovery, the court or Magistrate shall cause all such passages to be concealed from view or to be obliterated so far as may be necessary to protect the informer from discovery but no further.
(3) If on the trial of any offence under this Act the Magistrate after full enquiry into the case believes that the informer wilfully made in his information a material statement which he knew or believed to be false or did not believe to be true or if in any other proceeding the court or Magistrate is of opinion that justice cannot be fully done between the parties thereto without the discovery of the informer, it shall be lawful for the court or Magistrate to require the production of the original information and to permit enquiry and require full disclosure concerning the informer.

Perlindungan pemberi maklumat
(1) Kecuali sebagaimana yang disebut kemudian daripada ini tiada maklumat yang dibentangkan di bawah Akta ini boleh diterima sebagai keterangan dalam mana-mana prosiding sivil atau jenayah apa jua pun dan tiada seorang pun saksi boleh diwajibkan atau dibenarkan mendedahkan nama atau alamat mana-mana pemberi maklumat di bawah Akta ini atau menyatakan apa-apa perkara yang mungkin membawa kepada penzahirannya.
(2) Jika apa-apa buku, dokumen atau kertas yang ada sebagai keterangan atau yang boleh diperiksa dalam apa-apa prosiding sivil
atau jenayah apa jua pun mengandungi apa-apa catatan yang di dalamnya mana-mana pemberi maklumat dinamakan atau diperihalkan atau yang mungkin membawa kepada penzahirannya, mahkamah atau Majistret hendaklah menyebabkan semua petikan sedemikian disembunyikan daripada pandangan atau dipadamkan setakat yang perlu untuk melindungi pemberi maklumat itu daripada dizahirkan tetapi tidak lebih daripada itu.
(3) Jika atas perbicaraan apa-apa kesalahan di bawah Akta ini Majistret setelah membuat siasatan penuh ke atas kes itu mempercayai bahawa pemberi maklumat itu dengan sengaja membuat suatu pernyataan material dalam maklumatnya yang dia ketahui atau percayai adalah palsu atau yang dia tidak percayai adalah benar atau jika dalam mana-mana prosiding lain mahkamah atau Majistret berpendapat bahawa keadilan tidak dapat dilakukan sepenuhnya antara pihak-pihak di dalamnya tanpa menzahirkan pemberi maklumat, ia adalah sah bagi mahkamah atau Majistret untuk menghendaki pengemukaan maklumat asal itu dan untuk membenarkan siasatan dan menghendaki pendedahan penuh berkenaan dengan pemberi maklumat itu.
