s 124 Divorce outside Court and without Court’s permission

Any man who divorces his wife by the pronouncement of talaq in any form outside the Court and without the permission of the Court commits an offence and shall be punished with a fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit or with imprisonment not exceeding six months or both.

Malay text (authoritative)

Jika seseorang lelaki menceraikan isterinya dengan melafazkan talaq dengan apa-apa bentuk di luar Mahkamah dan tanpa kebenaran Mahkamah itu maka dia adalah melakukan suatu kesalahan dan hendaklah dihukum denda tidak melebihi satu ribu ringgit atau penjara tidak melebihi enam bulan atau kedua-duanya denda dan penjara itu.
