s 42 Correction of errors
(1) If the Registrar is satisfied by statutory declaration or otherwise that any entry relating to a marriage is erroneous in form or substance, he may, in the presence of the persons married, or, if they are absent, in the presence of two credible witnesses, correct the error by ruling through the entry and making the correct entry and he shall thereupon cause the entry in the local Marriage Register to be corrected in the same manner.
(2) The Registrar shall sign and date the correction made in the certificate of marriage and the local Marriage Register.
(3) Every entry made under subsection (1) shall be attested by the witnesses in whose presence it was made.
(4) A certified copy of the correction shall be sent forthwith to the Chief Registrar for a similar correction to be made in his Marriage Register.

(1) Jika Pendaftar berpuas hati melalui akuau igrar kanun 'atau selainnya bahawa sesuatu catatan berhubungan dengan sesuatu perkahwinan adalah silap pada bentuk atau isinya, dia boleh, di hadapan orangdra hadapag berai ah i satasi yak morcka diparcaya, membetülkan kesilapan itu dengan memotong catatan itu dan membuat catatan yang betul dan dia hendaklah selepas itu mengarahkan supaya catatan dalam Daftar Perkahwinan tempatan dibetulkan mengikut cara yang sama.
(2) Pendaftar hendaklah menandatangani dan mentarikhkan pembetulan yang dibuat dalam surat perakuan nikah itu dan dalam Daftar Perkahwinan tempatan itu.
(3) Tiap-tiap catatan yang dibuat di bawah subseksyen (1) hendaklah diakusaksi oleh saksi-saksi yang di hadapannya catatan itu telah dibuat.
(4) Suatu salinan pembetulan itu yang diperakui hendaklah dihantar dengan segera kepada" Ketua Pendaftar supaya suatu pembetulan yang serupa dibuat dalam Daftar Perkahwinannya.
