s 29 Power to make rules and orders for the control of traffic

(1) A Commissioner or a Chief Police Officer may in respect of a State, with the approval of the Menteri Besar or the Chief Minister of that State, as the case may be, make rules for― (a) keeping order and preventing obstruction or inconvenience on public roads, streets, thoroughfares, landing places and ferries and at public places and at places of public resort (whether such places are on State land or otherwise); (b) prohibiting the use of specified public roads, streets, thoroughfares, landing places and ferries either absolutely or conditionally. (2) A Commissioner or a Chief Police Officer may make orders prescribing the routes by which vehicles shall, for the purpose of setting down and taking up persons, drive up to and leave any landing place, ferry or place of assembly or of public resort, and the places where and the order in which such vehicles shall wait for the purposes aforesaid: Provided that no order for the parking of vehicles upon land in private ownership under this subsection shall be made except with the consent of the owner or occupier of such land. (3) There may be annexed to the breach of any of the rules or orders aforesaid a penalty not exceeding two hundred ringgit.

Kuasa untuk membuat kaedah-kaedah dan perintah bagi mengawal lalu lintas

(1) Seorang Pesuruhjaya atau seorang Ketua Pegawai Polis boleh berkenaan dengan suatu Negeri, dengan kelulusan Menteri Besar atau Ketua Menteri Negeri tersebut, mengikut mana yang berkenaan, membuat kaedah-kaedah bagi― (a) menjaga ketenteraman dan mencegah halangan atau kesulitan di jalan awam, lorong, jalan tembus, tempat mendarat dan feri dan di tempat awam dan di tempat kunjungan awam (sama ada tempat itu di atas tanah Kerajaan atau selainnya); (b) melarang digunakan jalan awam, lorong, jalan tembus, tempat mendarat dan feri yang tertentu sama ada dengan mutlak atau bersyarat. (2) Seorang Pesuruhjaya atau seorang Ketua Pegawai Polis boleh membuat perintah menetapkan jalan yang dikehendaki dilalui oleh kenderaan bagi maksud menurunkan atau mengambil orang, hingga dan apabila meninggalkan mana-mana tempat mendarat, feri atau tempat perhimpunan atau tempat kunjungan awam, dan tempat di mana dan tertib bagaimana kenderaan itu dikehendaki menunggu bagi maksud yang tersebut dahulu: Dengan syarat bahawa tiada sesuatu perintah yang menghendaki kenderaan diletakkan di atas tanah kepunyaan pihak persendirian di bawah subseksyen ini boleh dibuat kecuali dengan keizinan pemunya atau penduduk tanah itu. (3) Maka bolehlah dikenakan bagi pelanggaran apa-apa kaedah atau perintah yang tersebut dahulu suatu penalti tidak melebihi dua ratus ringgit.
