s 48 Denoting penalty

The payment of any penalty prescribed under section 43 or section 47A shall be denoted on the instrument by a stamp duly cancelled or by means of an impressed stamp or, in the case of Sabah and Sarawak, by affixing an official receipt to the instrument, and shall be certified by the Collector.
