(1) If the Registrar is of the opinion that it is in the interest of the members generally in any area or State so to do he may by order suspend the constitution or the rules of any Area or State Fishermen’s Association.
(2) As soon as the order under subsection (1) has been made the Registrar shall cause an inquiry to be made in respect of such association in respect of which the order was made or any aspect of the business of such association.
(3) After the inquiry under subsection (2) has been made the Registrar may revoke the order of suspension or order that such association be dissolved as he thinks expedient.
(4) Subject to any appeal made under section 21, the order for the dissolution of an Area or State Fishermen’s Association shall take effect on the expiry of the period of three months after the date of publication of the order.
(5) An Area or State Fishermen’s Association affected by an order under this section shall be dissolved in accordance with the rules made under this Act.

Kuasa untuk menggantung dan membubarkan
(1) Jika Pendaftar berpendapat bahawa adalah untuk kepentingan ahli amnya dalam mana-mana kawasan atau Negeri menggantung perlembagaan atau kaedah-kaedah mana-mana Persatuan Nelayan Kawasan atau Negeri, dia boleh dengan perintah berbuat demikian.
(2) Sebaik sahaja perintah di bawah subseksyen (1) dibuat terhadap sesuatu persatuan, Pendaftar hendaklah menyebabkan suatu siasatan dijalankan berkenaan dengan persatuan itu atau berkenaan dengan mana-mana segi urusan persatuan itu.
(3) Selepas siasatan di bawah subseksyen (2) dijalankan Pendaftar boleh membatalkan perintah penggantungan itu atau memerintahkan supaya persatuan itu dibubarkan sebagaimana yang difikirkannya suai manfaat.
(4) Tertakluk kepada apa-apa rayuan yang dibuat di bawah seksyen 21, perintah membubarkan sesuatu Persatuan Nelayan Kawasan atau Negeri hendaklah berkuat kuasa apabila habis tempoh tiga bulan selepas tarikh perintah itu disiarkan.
(5) Sesuatu Persatuan Nelayan Kawasan atau Negeri yang terlibat oleh sesuatu perintah di bawah seksyen ini hendaklah dibubarkan mengikut kaedah-kaedah yang dibuat di bawah Akta ini.
