Domestic Violence Act 1994 s 14

s 14 Filing in of application

Notwithstanding the provisions of any written law on the territorial jurisdiction of a court, an application for a protection order or an interim protection order involving a complaint of domestic violence may be filed in any district where― (a) the victim resides; (b) the person against whom the protection is sought resides; (c) the alleged violence occurred; or (d) the victim is placed temporarily, and the application shall be heard by the court as soon as practicable.

Walau apa pun peruntukan mana-mana undang-undang bertulis mengenai bidang kuasa wilayah mahkamah, suatu permohonan bagi suatu perintah perlindungan atau perintah perlindungan interim yang melibatkan aduan keganasan rumah tangga boleh difailkan di dalam mana-mana daerah di manaβ€” (a) mangsa itu tinggal; (b) orang yang terhadapnya perlindungan yang diminta itu tinggal; (c) keganasan yang dikatakan itu berlaku; atau (d) mangsa itu ditempatkan buat sementara waktu, dan permohonan itu hendaklah didengar oleh mahkamah secepat yang dapat dilaksanakan.
