s 9 Appointment of Director General
(1) The Minister shall, from time to time, by notification in the Gazette, appoint a public officer to be the Director General of the Department of Standards for the purpose of carrying out the duties and functions assigned to him under this Act.
(2) The Director General shall hold office for such term and subject to such conditions as the Minister may, after consultation with the Public Services Commission, determine.
(3) The Director General shall have an official seal to be published in the Gazette for the authentication of documents required for the purposes of his duties and functions under this Act.

Pelantikan Ketua Pengarah
(1) Menteri hendaklah, dari semasa ke semasa, melalui pemberitahuan dalam Warta, melantik seorang pegawai awam untuk menjadi Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Standard bagi maksud menjalankan kewajipan dan fungsi yang diberikan kepadanya di bawah Akta ini.
(2) Ketua Pengarah hendaklah memegang jawatan bagi apa-apa tempoh dan tertakluk kepada apa-apa syarat yang ditentukan oleh Menteri selepas berunding dengan Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Awam.
(3) Ketua Pengarah hendaklah mempunyai meterai rasmi yang hendaklah disiarkan dalam Warta bagi pengesahan dokumen yang dikehendaki bagi maksud kewajipan dan fungsinya di bawah Akta ini.
