Syariah Criminal Procedure (Federal Territories) Act 1997 s 75

s 75 Postponement of issue of process

If the Judge has reasonable doubt as to the truth of a complaint of an offence of which he is authorized to take cognizance he may, when the complainant has been examined, record his reason for doubting the truth of the complaint and may then postpone the issue of process for compelling the attendance of the person complained against and either inquire into the case himself or direct a Religious Enforcement Officer to make inquiries for the purpose of ascertaining the truth or falsehood of the complaint and report to him the result of such inquiries.

Jika Hakim ada keraguan yang munasabah tentang kebenaran sesuatu aduan mengenai sesuatu kesalahan yang dia diberi kuasa mengambil perhatian tentangnya, dia boleh, apabila pengadu itu telah diperiksa, merekodkan sebab dia meragui kebenaran aduan itu dan kemudiannya boleh menangguhkan pengeluaran proses bagi memaksa kehadiran orang yang diadukan itu dan sama ada menyiasat hal itu sendiri atau mengarahkan seorang Pegawai Penguat Kuasa Agama supaya membuat siasatan bagi maksud menentukan kebenaran atau kepalsuan aduan itu dan melaporkan kepadanya hasil siasatan itu.
