s 69 Powers of arrest

(1) Any veterinary authority, officer of customs or police officer may arrest without warrant any person whom he sees or finds committing or attempting to commit or whom he reasonably suspects of being engaged in committing or attempting to commit any offence against this Act, if such person refuses to furnish his name and address or furnishes an address out of Peninsular Malaysia, or there are reasonable grounds for believing that he has furnished a false name or address or that he is likely to abscond. (2) Every person so arrested shall be taken to a police station and shall be dealt with as if he had been arrested under the Criminal Procedure Code [Act 593].
