s 70 Advice to, and acting generally as agent for, Government

(1) The Governor or any Deputy Governor with the approval of the Minister or any officer of the Bank with the approval of the Governor, may upon request of the Government, act as a member of any committee or commission appointed by the Government to advise or enquire into any matter affecting monetary, financial, banking or currency matters in Malaysia or outside Malaysia. (2) The Bank, where it is appropriate and consistent with its objects and the provisions of this Act and if it is within its competence and expertise— (a) shall, upon request by the Government or where the Bank considers it necessary in the interest of the economy, advise the Government on economic matters; (b) may, upon request of the Government, act as a member of any committee affecting economic matters in Malaysia; (c) may, upon request of the Government, represent the Government as its agent in all dealings, negotiations or transactions relating to monetary, financial, banking, currency or economic matters with any government or authorities outside Malaysia to which the Government has adhered or given support or approval; or (d) may act generally as agent to the Government on such terms and conditions to be agreed between the Bank and the Government.

Nasihat kepada, dan bertindak secara am sebagai ejen, Kerajaan

(1) Gabenor atau mana-mana Timbalan Gabenor dengan kelulusan Menteri atau mana-mana pegawai Bank dengan kelulusan Gabenor, boleh atas permintaan Kerajaan, bertindak sebagai anggota mana-mana jawatankuasa atau suruhanjaya yang dilantik oleh Kerajaan untuk menasihati atau memeriksa apa-apa perkara yang melibatkan perkara monetari, kewangan, perbankan atau mata wang di dalam Malaysia atau di luar Malaysia. (2) Bank, jika sesuai dan selaras dengan matlamatnya dan peruntukan Akta ini dan jika ia berkemahiran dan mempunyai kepakaran— (a) hendaklah, atas permintaan Kerajaan atau jika dianggap perlu oleh Bank demi kepentingan ekonomi, menasihati Kerajaan tentang perkara ekonomi; (b) boleh, atas permintaan Kerajaan, bertindak sebagai anggota mana-mana jawatankuasa yang melibatkan perkara ekonomi di Malaysia; (c) boleh, atas permintaan Kerajaan, mewakili Kerajaan sebagai ejennya dalam segala urus niaga, rundingan atau transaksi yang berhubungan dengan perkara monetari, kewangan, perbankan, mata wang atau ekonomi dengan mana-mana kerajaan atau pihak berkuasa di luar Malaysia yang dengannya Kerajaan terikat atau memberikan sokongan atau kelulusan; atau (d) boleh bertindak secara am sebagai ejen kepada Kerajaan atas apa-apa terma dan syarat yang hendaklah dipersetujui antara Bank dengan Kerajaan.
