s 71 Obligation of secrecy
(1) Except for any of the purposes of this Act or for the purposes of any civil or criminal proceedings under any written law or where otherwise authorized by the Ministerβ
(a) the Registrar, Deputy Registrars, Assistant Registrars, authorized officers or officers of the Registrar, whether during or after his tenure of office or employment, shall not disclose any information obtained by him in the course of his duties; and
(b) no person who has by any means access to any information or documents relating to the affairs of the Registrar shall disclose such information or document.
(2) A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.

Obligasi kerahsiaan
(1) Kecuali bagi apa-apa maksud Akta ini atau bagi maksud apa-apa prosiding sivil atau jenayah di bawah mana-mana undang-undang bertulis atau jika selainnya dibenarkan oleh Menteriβ
(a) Pendaftar, Timbalan Pendaftar, Penolong Pendaftar, pegawai diberi kuasa atau pegawai Pendaftar, sama ada semasa atau selepas tempoh jawatan atau penggajiannya, tidak boleh menzahirkan apa-apa maklumat yang diperolehnya semasa menjalankan kewajipannya; dan
(b) tiada seorang pun yang telah melalui apa-apa cara mendapat akses kepada apa-apa maklumat atau dokumen yang
berhubungan dengan hal ehwal Pendaftar boleh menzahirkan maklumat atau dokumen itu.
(2) Seseorang yang melanggar subseksyen (1) melakukan suatu kesalahan dan boleh, apabila disabitkan, didenda tidak melebihi satu ratus ribu ringgit atau dipenjarakan selama tempoh tidak melebihi satu tahun atau kedua-duanya.
