s 6 Membership of the Council

(1) The Council shall consist of the following members who shall be appointed by the Minister on the recommendation of the Director General: (a) not more than three representatives from the Ministry of Health; (b) two representatives from any local universities with expertise in traditional and complementary medicine fields; (c) not more than three registered practitioners in the public service; (d) not more than eight individuals from private practice who represent the designated traditional and complementary medicine practitioner bodies in Malaysia; and (e) five individuals who possess sufficient experience and expertise in the relevant industry. (2) The Director General shall be the Chairman of the Council. (3) A member of the Council shall, subject to such conditions as may be specified in his instrument of appointment, unless he sooner resigns, hold office for a term not exceeding three years and is eligible for reappointment. (4) The appointment of any member of the Council may, at any time, be revoked by the Minister if such person is found by the Minister no longer to be a fit and proper person having regard to— (a) his probity, his competence and soundness of judgment for fulfilling the responsibilities as a member of the Council; or (b) the diligence with which he is fulfilling or likely to fulfil his responsibilities as a member of the Council. (5) Every member of the Council shall devote such time to the business of the Council as is necessary to discharge his duties effectively. (6) A member of the Council may at any time resign his office by giving a notice in writing to the Minister and a copy of the notice to the Council.

Keanggotaan Majlis

(1) Majlis hendaklah terdiri daripada anggota yang berikut yang hendaklah dilantik oleh Menteri atas syor Ketua Pengarah: (a) tidak lebih daripada tiga wakil daripada Kementerian Kesihatan; (b) dua wakil daripada mana-mana universiti tempatan yang mempunyai kepakaran dalam bidang perubatan tradisional dan komplementari; (c) tidak lebih daripada tiga pengamal berdaftar dalam perkhidmatan awam; (d) tidak lebih daripada lapan individu daripada amalan swasta yang mewakili badan pengamal perubatan tradisional dan komplementari yang ditetapkan di Malaysia; dan (e) lima individu yang mempunyai pengalaman dan kepakaran yang layak dalam industri yang berkaitan. (2) Ketua Pengarah hendaklah menjadi Pengerusi Majlis. (3) Anggota Majlis hendaklah, tertakluk kepada apa-apa syarat sebagaimana yang ditetapkan dalam surat cara pelantikannya, melainkan jika dia meletakkan jawatannya terlebih dahulu, memegang jawatan selama suatu tempoh yang tidak melebihi tiga tahun dan layak untuk dilantik semula. (4) Pelantikan mana-mana anggota Majlis boleh, pada bila-bila masa, dibatalkan oleh Menteri jika orang itu didapati oleh Menteri tidak lagi layak dan sesuai setelah mengambil kira— (a) kejujurannya yang tidak diragui, kecekapannya dan kewibawaan pertimbangannya dalam memenuhi tanggungjawab sebagai anggota Majlis; atau (b) ketekunannya dalam memenuhi atau yang memungkinkannya memenuhi tanggungjawab sebagai anggota Majlis. (5) Tiap-tiap anggota Majlis hendaklah menumpukan masa kepada urusan Majlis sebagaimana yang diperlukan untuk melaksanakan tugas secara berkesan. (6) Anggota Majlis boleh pada bila-bila masa meletakkan jawatan dengan memberi notis bertulis kepada Menteri dan sesalinan notis itu kepada Majlis.
