s 7 Membership of the Institute
The Institute shall consist of the following members who shall be appointed by the Minister:
(a) a Chairman;
(b) a representative of the Ministry responsible for forestry;
(c) a representative of the Treasury;
(d) a representative of the Department or Unit responsible for national socio-economic development;
(e) a representative of the Ministry responsible for plantation and commodities industries;
(f) a representative of the Forestry Department Peninsular Malaysia;
(g) a representative of the State Government of Sabah;
(h) a representative of the State Government of Sarawak;
(i) a representative of the Malaysian Timber Industry Board;
(j) two representatives of the forest-based industries;
(k) not more than four persons who have the expertise and experience in finance, business or investment who, in the opinion of the Minister, are able to contribute to the research and development relating to forestry and forest produce commercialization; and
(l) the Director General.

Keanggotaan Institut
Institut hendaklah terdiri daripada anggota yang berikut yang hendaklah dilantik oleh Menteri:
(a) seorang Pengerusi;
(b) seorang wakil Kementerian yang bertanggungjawab bagi perhutanan;
(c) seorang wakil Perbendaharaan;
(d) seorang wakil Jabatan atau Unit yang bertanggungjawab bagi pembangunan sosioekonomi negara;
(e) seorang wakil Kementerian yang bertanggungjawab bagi industri perladangan dan komoditi;
(f) seorang wakil Jabatan Perhutanan Semenanjung Malaysia;
(g) seorang wakil Kerajaan Negeri Sabah;
(h) seorang wakil Kerajaan Negeri Sarawak;
(i) seorang wakil Lembaga Perindustrian Kayu Malaysia;
(j) dua orang wakil industri berasaskan hutan;
(k) tidak lebih daripada empat orang yang mempunyai kepakaran dan pengalaman dalam hal kewangan, perniagaan atau pelaburan yang, pada pendapat Menteri, boleh menyumbang kepada penyelidikan dan pembangunan yang berhubungan dengan perhutanan dan pengkomersialan hasil hutan; dan
(l) Ketua Pengarah.
