s 3 Functions and powers of Director General and other officers
(1) The Director General shall have the superintendence of all matters relating to tourism tax subject to the direction and control of the Minister.
(2) Subject to the general direction and supervision of the Director General, all officers of customs appointed under section 3 of the Customs Act 1967 and holding the rank of Superintendent or any rank higher than that of Superintendent, shall have and exercise all powers conferred on the Director General in this Act other than those conferred in sections 21 and 66.
(3) It shall be the duty of any officer of customs to enforce and ensure due compliance with the provisions of this Act and to make all due enquiries in relation thereto.
(4) Every person employed on any duty or service relating to the tourism tax by the order or with the concurrence of the Director General, whether previously or subsequently expressed, shall be deemed to be the proper officer for that duty or service.

Fungsi dan kuasa Ketua Pengarah dan pegawai lain
(1) Ketua Pengarah hendaklah mempunyai kuasa untuk mengawasi segala perkara yang berhubungan dengan cukai pelancongan tertakluk pada arahan dan kawalan Menteri.
(2) Tertakluk pada arahan dan pengawasan am Ketua Pengarah, semua pegawai kastam yang dilantik di bawah seksyen 3 Akta Kastam 1967 dan yang memegang pangkat Penguasa atau apa-apa pangkat yang lebih tinggi daripada pangkat Penguasa,
hendaklah mempunyai dan menjalankan segala kuasa yang diberikan kepada Ketua Pengarah di bawah Akta ini selain kuasa yang diberikan oleh seksyen 21 dan 66.
(3) Menjadi kewajipan mana-mana pegawai kastam untuk menguatkuasakan dan memastikan pematuhan yang sewajarnya peruntukan Akta ini dan untuk membuat segala penyiasatan yang sewajarnya berhubung dengannya.
(4) Tiap-tiap orang yang diguna khidmat bagi apa-apa kewajipan atau perkhidmatan yang berhubungan dengan cukai pelancongan dengan perintah atau persetujuan Ketua Pengarah, sama ada dinyatakan sebelumnya atau kemudiannya, hendaklah disifatkan sebagai pegawai yang hak bagi kewajipan atau perkhidmatan itu.
