SEC. 3. Section five of the same Act is hereby also amended to read as follows: "SEC. 5. The Director of the Census shall receive compensation at the rate of seven thousand two hundred pesos per annum and each assistant at a rate to be fixed by the Governor-General, in his discretion, not to exceed six thousand pesos per annum. Such census officers as may be designated from among the officers or employees of the Government shall continue to receive the salaries of the offices or employments held by them and shall receive such honorariums, payable from census funds, as may be fixed by the Governor-General."
