Section 88
SEC. 88. Temporary vacancies.—If, at the time of the meeting of the board, any inspector or the poll clerk is absent, or the office is .still vacant, the inspector present shall call upon the substitute of the absent member to perform the duties of the latter; and, in case such substitute cannot be found, the inspector present upon nomination by the representative of the party of the absent member or in his absence, by the watchers belonging to the party, shall appoint any qualified elector of the election precinct to temporarily fill said vacancy until the absent member appears or the vacancy is filled. In case there are two inspectors present, they shall act jointly. (C. A. 357-83)
