The signing on behalf of the Union of the Agreement between the European Union and the Principality of Liechtenstein on the application of certain provisions of Council Decision 2008/615/JHA on the stepping up of cross-border cooperation, particularly in combating terrorism and cross-border crime, of Council Decision 2008/616/JHA on the implementation of Decision 2008/615/JHA on the stepping up of cross-border cooperation, particularly in combating terrorism and cross-border crime, and the Annex thereto, and of Council Framework Decision 2009/905/JHA on accreditation of forensic service providers carrying out laboratory activities is hereby authorised, subject to the conclusion of the said Agreement. The text of the Agreement is attached to this Decision.

The Declaration attached to the Agreement shall be approved on behalf of the Union.

The President of the Council is hereby authorised to designate the person(s) empowered to sign the Agreement on behalf of the Union.

In accordance with Article 8(3) of the Agreement, Article 5(1) and (2) of the Agreement shall be applied on a provisional basis as from the signature of the Agreement  ( 4 ) , pending the completion of the procedures necessary for its entry into force.

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
