Renewal of the authorisation

Article 1

The authorisation of the preparation specified in the Annex, belonging to the additive category ‘technological additives’ and to the functional group ‘silage additives’, is renewed subject to the conditions laid down in that Annex.

Repeal of Implementing Regulation (EU) No 84/2014

Article 2

Implementing Regulation (EU) No 84/2014 is repealed.

Entry into force

Article 3

This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.

In the directions for use of the additive and premixtures, the storage conditions shall be indicated. 2. The additive shall only be used in easy and moderately difficult to ensile fresh material  ( 2 ) . 3. Minimum dose of the additive, when it is not used in combination with other micro-organisms as silage additives: 1 × 108 CFU/kg fresh material. 4. For users of the additive and premixtures, feed business operators shall establish operational procedures and organisational measures to address potential risks resulting from their use. Where those risks cannot be eliminated by such procedures and measures, the additive and premixtures shall be used with personal skin, eye and breathing protective equipment. 19 February 2035 Characterisation of the active substance Viable cells of Pediococcus pentosaceus DSM 14021 ------------- Analytical method  ( 1 ) Enumeration in the feed additive of Pediococcus pentosaceus DSM 14021: — Spread plate method on MRS agar (EN 15786). Identification of Pediococcus pentosaceus DSM 14021: — Pulsed Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE) - CEN/TS 17697 or DNA sequencing methods.
