Multilateral obligations and general background

Article 41

1.   The Parties reaffirm their rights and obligations under the WTO Agreement, and in particular the WTO Agreements on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS Agreement) and on Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT Agreement). The Parties which are not members of the WTO also confirm their commitment to comply with the obligations set out in the SPS and TBT Agreements with regard to all matters concerning relations between the Parties. 2.   The Parties reaffirm their commitment to improve public health in the territories of the signatory Central African States, in particular by strengthening their capacity to identify unsafe products, pursuant to Article 47. 3.   These commitments, rights and obligations shall inform the activities of the Parties under this Chapter.
