Equality bodies
Article 11
1. The Member States shall take the necessary measures to ensure that the body or bodies designated in accordance with Article 20 of Directive 2006/54/EC are also competent for the promotion, analysis, monitoring and support of equal treatment of all persons covered by this Directive without discrimination on grounds of sex. 2. The Member States shall ensure that the tasks of the bodies referred to in paragraph 1 include: (a) providing independent assistance to victims of discrimination in pursuing their complaints of discrimination, without prejudice to the rights of victims and of associations, organisations and other legal entities referred to in Article 9(2); (b) conducting independent surveys on discrimination; (c) publishing independent reports and making recommendations on any issue relating to such discrimination; (d) exchanging, at the appropriate level, the information available with the corresponding European bodies, such as the European Institute for Gender Equality.
