Article 1
The Decision of the Bureau of the European Parliament of 28 November 2001 on the rules governing public access to European Parliament documents is amended as follows: (1) The third citation is replaced by the following: ‘Having regard to Rules 25(2) and (12), 124(1) and 125 of the Rules of Procedure,’; (2) The third recital is replaced by the following: ‘Whereas, pursuant to Rule 125(2), (3) and (4) of the Rules of Procedure, the Bureau is required to adopt rules establishing a register of references of documents, to lay down arrangements for access to and to determine the bodies responsible for the handling of applications for access,’; (3) In Article 4, paragraph 2 is replaced by the following: ‘2. European Parliament documents as defined by Rule 125(2) of the European Parliament's Rules of Procedure shall be recorded in the ERR under the responsibility of the body or service which is the originator of the document.’ ; (4) In Article 12, paragraph 1 is replaced by the following: ‘1. Initial applications submitted to the European Parliament shall be handled by the Secretary-General under the authority of the Vice-President responsible for supervision of the handling of applications for access to documents, as provided for by Rule 125(4) and (5) of the European Parliament's Rules of Procedure.’ .
