s 31 Provision for preservation and planting of trees
(1) It shall be the duty of the Commissioner whenever it is appropriate at the time of granting planning permission or at any time thereafter to impose conditions for the preservation or planting of trees and the making up of open spaces.
(2) The Commissioner may at the time of granting planning permission and at any time thereafter require the applicant to deposit and deposit further with the Commissioner such amount as the Commissioner may determine to ensure that—
(a) the condition for the preservation or planting of trees will be complied with; and
(b) any open spaces are made up according to the approved plans and specifications.
(3) The amount determined by the Commissioner shall be deposited within such period as may be specified by the Commissioner.

Peruntukan untuk pemeliharaan dan penanaman pokok
(1) Maka adalah menjadi kewajipan Datuk Bandar apabila sesuai pada masa memberi kebenaran perancangan atau pada bila-bila masa selepas itu untuk mengenakan syarat untuk memelihara atau menanam pokok dan mengadakan tanah lapang.
(2) Datuk Bandar boleh pada masa memberi kebenaran perancangan dan pada bila-bila masa selepas itu menghendaki pemohon mendeposit atau mendepositkan selanjutnya kepada Datuk Bandar apa-apa amaun sebagaimana yang ditentukan oleh Datuk Bandar untuk memastikan supaya―
(a) syarat untuk memelihara atau menanam pokok akan dipatuhi; dan
(b) apa-apa tanah lapang dibina mengikut pelan dan penentuan yang diluluskan.
(3) Amaun yang ditentukan oleh Datuk Bandar hendaklah didepositkan dalam apa-apa tempoh sebagaimana yang dinyatakan oleh Datuk Bandar.
