(1) The Minister may by order in writing authorize the telecommunication authority in any area within a proclaimed area specified in the order to withdraw either totally or partially the use of all or any telecommunication facilities or telecommunication plant from any person or class of persons or from the public at large except those persons or class of persons as may be specified in the order and thereupon the telecommunication authority shall withdraw the use, the provision of any agreement or of any written law to the contrary notwithstanding. (2) In this section the expression "telecommunication authority" has the meaning assigned to it in section 2 of the *Telecommunications Act 1950 [Act 20]. *NOTE-The Telecommunications Act 1950 [Act 20] has since been repealed by the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 [Act 588)-see subsection 273(1) of Act 588.

Pemberhentian perkhidmatan telefon

(1) Menteri boleh melalui perintah secara bertulis memberi kuasa kepada pihak berkuasa telekomunikasi di mana-mana kawasan dalam suatu kawasan diproklamasi yang dinyatakan dalam perintah itu untuk menarik balik sama ada keseluruhan atau sebahagiannya penggunaan kesemua atau mana-mana kemudahan telekomunikasi atau loji telekomunikasi daripada mana-mana orang atau golongan orang atau daripada awam pada umumnya kecuali orang atau golongan orang yang dinyatakan dalam perintah itu dan sesudah itu pihak berkuasa telekomunikasi hendaklah menarik balik penggunaannya, walau apa pun peruntukan apa-apa perjanjian mana-mana undang-undang bertulis yang berlawanan. (2) Dalam seksyen ini ungkapan ―pihak berkuasa telekomunikasi‖ mempunyai makna yang diberi kepadanya dalam seksyen *Akta Telekomunikasi 1950 [Akta 20].
