Atomic Energy Licensing Act 1984 s 16

s 16 Application for licence

(1) An applicant for a licence under this Act shall first make an application in that behalf to the Board. (2) Upon such application being made, the Board shall determine if the activity to be licensed is in respect of a medical purpose or a purpose other than a medical purpose. (3) If the Board determines that the activity to be licensed is in respect of a medical purpose, the Board shall refer the application to the Director General of Health for the Director General of Health to consider the application. (4) If the Board determines that the activity to be licensed is in respect of a purpose other than a medical purpose, the Board shall proceed to deal with the application. (5) The appropriate authority may thereafter issue to the applicant a licence in the prescribed form upon payment of the prescribed fee or may, if it thinks fit, refuse to issue such licence. (6) Every licence issued under this Act shall, unless sooner cancelled or suspended, continue in force for such period not exceeding three years as the appropriate authority may in each case determine.

Permohonan untuk lesen

(1) Seseorang pemohon yang memohon lesen di bawah Akta ini hendaklah mula-mula sekali membuat permohonan bagi maksud itu kepada Lembaga. (2) Apabila permohonan sedemikian dibuat, Lembaga hendaklah menentukan sama ada aktiviti yang akan dilesenkan itu adalah untuk maksud perubatan atau suatu maksud selain maksud perubatan. (3) Jika Lembaga memutuskan bahawa aktiviti yang akan dilesenkan itu adalah berkenaan dengan maksud perubatan, Lembaga hendaklah merujukkan permohonan itu kepada Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan supaya Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan menimbangkan permohonan itu. (4) Jika Lembaga memutuskan bahawa aktiviti yang akan dilesenkan itu adalah untuk suatu maksud selain maksud perubatan, Lembaga hendaklah terus menimbangkan permohonan itu. (5) Pihak berkuasa berkenaan boleh selepas itu mengeluarkan kepada pemohon suatu lesen dalam bentuk yang ditetapkan apabila dibayar fi yang ditetapkan atau boleh, jika difikirkannya patut, enggan mengeluarkan lesen itu. (6) Tiap-tiap lesen yang dikeluarkan di bawah Akta ini hendaklah, melainkan jika dibatalkan atau digantung terlebih dahulu, terus berkuat kuasa selama suatu tempoh tidak melebihi tiga tahun sebagaimana ditetapkan oleh pihak berkuasa berkenaan dalam setiap kes.
