s 37 Promotion of development and management of inland fisheries
The Director General may, in consultation with the State Authority concerned, promote the development and rational management of inland fisheries through—
(a) the conduct or co-ordination of research;
(b) the provision and maintenance of experimental and demonstration aquaculture stations, fish-breeding stations and training centres;
(c) the provision of advice and technical assistance to the appropriate authorities of the State;
(d) the provision of publicity and demonstration facilities and other connected services; and
(e) the provision of advice on measures for the prevention of fish diseases.

Galakan pemajuan dan pengurusan perikanan darat
Ketua Pengarah boleh, dengan berunding dengan Pihak Berkuasa Negeri yang berkenaan, menggalakkan pemajuan dan pengurusan yang rasional bagi perikanan darat melalui—
(a) penjalanan atau penyelarasan penyelidikan;
(b) peruntukan dan senggaraan ke atas stesen akuakultur percubaan dan tunjuk cara, tempat pembiak-baik ikan dan pusat latihan;
(c) peruntukan nasihat dan bantuan teknikal kepada pihak berkuasa yang berkenaan dalam Negeri itu;
(d) peruntukan kemudahan publisiti dan tunjuk cara dan perkhidmatan lain yang berkaitan; dan
(e) peruntukan nasihat mengenai langkah untuk mencegah penyakit ikan.
