Malaysian Forestry Research and Development Board Act 1985 s 11

s 11 The Institute
(1) The Board shall establish and manage a research institute to be called the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia for the purpose of executing its functions under this Act.
(2) The Board shall, in relation to the Institute,—
(a) subject to subsection 12(4), determine the number and grades of posts of the officers and servants required by the Institute;
(b) determine the priority of the research activities of the Institute and approve the annual programmes of research and the estimates of expenditure necessary for carrying out the activities and administration of the Institute;
(c) ensure that the approved programmes are duly carried out and that the expenditure incurred is in accordance with the estimates of expenditure; and
(d) have such other powers as may be necessary for the management of the Institute.

Institut
(1) Lembaga hendaklah menubuhkan dan menguruskan suatu institut penyelidikan yang akan dinamakan Institut Penyelidikan Perhutanan Malaysia bagi tujuan melaksanakan fungsinya di bawah Akta ini.
(2) Lembaga hendaklah, berhubungan dengan Institut itu,—
(a) tertakluk kepada subseksyen 12(4), menentukan bilangan dan gred jawatan pegawai dan pekhidmat yang diperlukan oleh Institut;
(b) menentukan prioriti aktiviti penyelidikan Institut dan meluluskan program penyelidikan tahunan dan anggaran perbelanjaan yang perlu bagi melaksanakan aktiviti dan pentadbiran Institut;
(c) memastikan supaya program yang diluluskan dijalankan dengan sewajarnya dan supaya perbelanjaan yang ditanggung adalah mengikut anggaran perbelanjaan; dan
(d) mempunyai apa-apa kuasa lain yang perlu bagi pengurusan Institut.
