s 23 Property in discoveries and improvements
(1) The property in every discovery of and improvement in any process or apparatus beneficial to forestry development by any officer or servant of the Institute in the course of his duties or during the period when the officer or servant concerned is under the employment of the Board, shall vest in the Board, but the Board may reward the officer or servant concerned for the discovery or improvement.
(2) The Board may make available any discovery or improvement vested in the Institute by virtue of subsection (1), to any body or person subject to such conditions and to the payment of such fees or royalties if any, as the Board may determine.

Harta dalam penemuan dan pembaikan
(1) Harta dalam tiap-tiap penemuan dan pembaikan dalam mana-mana proses atau alat yang benefisial kepada pembangunan perhutanan oleh mana-mana pegawai atau pekhidmat Institut semasa menjalankan tugasnya atau dalam tempoh apabila pegawai atau pekhidmat yang berkenaan bekerja dengan Lembaga, hendaklah terletak hak pada Lembaga, tetapi Lembaga boleh membayar kepada pegawai atau pekhidmat yang berkenaan kerana penemuan atau pembaikan itu.
(2) Lembaga boleh menyebabkan tersedia apa-apa penemuan atau pembaikan yang terletak hak pada Institut mengikut subseksyen (1), kepada mana-mana badan atau orang tertakluk kepada apa-apa syarat dan kepada pembayaran apa-apa fi atau royalti jika ada, sebagaimana ditentukan oleh Lembaga.
