(1) The Council shall consist of the following members:
(a) the Secretary General of the Ministry responsible for consumer affairs or his representative; and
(b) not more than sixteen other persons to represent the interests of consumers, manufacturers, suppliers, other non-governmental organizations and academicians.
(2) The members referred to in paragraph (1)(b)—
(a) shall be appointed by the Minister for a term not exceeding two years; and
(b) shall be eligible for reappointment upon expiry of his term of office.
(3) The Minister shall appoint from among the members of the Council a Chairman and a Deputy Chairman.

Keanggotaan Majlis
(1) Majlis hendaklah terdiri daripada anggota yang berikut:
(a) Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian yang bertanggungjawab bagi hal ehwal pengguna atau wakilnya; dan
(b) tidak lebih daripada enam belas orang lain yang mewakili kepentingan pengguna, pengilang, pembekal, pertubuhan bukan kerajaan yang lain dan anggota akademik.
(2) Anggota yang disebut dalam perenggan (1)(b)—
(a) hendaklah dilantik oleh Menteri bagi tempoh yang tidak melebihi dua tahun; dan
(b) adalah layak untuk dilantik semula selepas tamat tempoh jawatannya.
(3) Menteri hendaklah melantik seorang Pengerusi dan Timbalan Pengerusi daripada kalangan anggota Majlis.
