s 56 Offences and penalties

(1) Any person who fails to comply with or contravenes any quirement or prohibition imposed upon him by any of the provisiot f this Act, any specification or requirement made, or any orde directive or notice given, or any limit, term, condition or restriction imposed, in the exercise of any power conferred under, pursuant to, or by virtue of any of the provisions of this Act set out in the the amount set out in the third column of the Schedule or to imprisonment not exceeding the term set out in the fourth column of the Schedule, or to both, and in the case ot a continuing ottence, shall in addition, be liable to a daily fine not exceeding the amount set out in the fifth column of the Schedule for every day during which the offence continues. (2) Notwithstanding subsection (1), if the person convicted of n ottence under this Act is a body corporate, the punishment o mprisonment set out in the fourth column of the Schedule shal not apply to it.
