s 57 General penalty

Any person who fails to comply with or contravenes any requirement or prohibition imposed upon him by any of the provisions of this Act or any specification or requirement made, or any order, directive or notice given, or any limit, term, condition or restriction imposed in the exercise of any power conferred under, pursuant to, or by virtue of any of the provisions of this Act not specified in the Schedule, commits an offence under such provision, and if no penalty is expressly provided for the offence in this Act, shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding five hundred thousand ringgit, and in the case of a continuing offence, shall, in addition, be liable to a daily fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit for every day during which the offence continues.
