(1) The owner of a heritage site shall ensure that the heritage site is always in a state of good repair.
(2) Where the Commissioner is satisfied that reasonable steps are not being taken for properly preserving the monument, he may carry out such repair works, after giving any person appearing to the Commissioner to be the owner of the monument two weeks notice of his intention to do so, and all costs and expenses reasonably incurred to carry out the works shall be reimbursed by such person.

Kewajipan untuk menjaga tapak warisan dalam keadaan baik
(1) Pemunya suatu tapak warisan hendaklah memastikan bahawa tapak warisan itu sentiasa dalam keadaan baik.
(2) Jika Pesuruhjaya berpuas hati bahawa langkah-langkah yang munasabah tidak diambil bagi pemeliharaan sewajarnya monumen itu, dia boleh menjalankan apa-apa kerja pembaikan, setelah memberikan kepada mana-mana orang yang didapati oleh Pesuruhjaya sebagai pemunya monumen itu dua minggu notis mengenai niatnya untuk berbuat demikian, dan segala kos dan belanja yang semunasabahnya dilakukan untuk menjalankan kerja itu hendaklah dibayar ganti oleh orang itu.
