(1) Any person who discovers any object which he has reason to believe has cultural heritage significance shall immediately notify the Commissioner, any authorized officer or the District Officer of the district where the object was discovered, and where practicable, deliver the object to the Commissioner, authorized officer or the District Officer who shall give a written acknowledgement thereof.
(2) Where the District Officer has reason to believe that any object discovered in his area has cultural heritage significance, he may by notice in writing require the person having possession of it to deliver the object immediately to him, and the District Officer on receiving such object shall give a written acknowledgement and shall keep safely the said object.
(3) A District Officer shall communicate the notification under subsection (1) or the written notice under subsection (2) to the Commissioner as soon as practicable.
(4) Any agent, contractor or executor of a Federal Government, State Government or an owner of an alienated land who discovers at the project site any object which he has reason to believe that the object has cultural heritage significance, such agent, contractor or executor shall report to the Commissioner who shall immediately inspect the object.
(5) Any person who contravenes subsection (1) or (4) commits an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding fifty thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to both.

Penjumpaan objek
(1) Mana-mana orang yang menjumpai apa-apa objek yang dia mempunyai sebab untuk mempercayai mempunyai warisan kebudayaan yang penting hendaklah dengan serta-merta memberitahu Pesuruhjaya, mana-mana pegawai yang diberi kuasa atau Pegawai Daerah bagi daerah tempat objek itu dijumpai, dan jika boleh dilaksanakan, menghantarkan objek itu kepada Pesuruhjaya, pegawai yang diberi kuasa atau Pegawai Daerah yang hendaklah memberikan suatu pengakuterimaan bertulis mengenainya.
(2) Jika Pegawai Daerah mempunyai sebab untuk mempercayai bahawa mana-mana objek yang dijumpai di dalam kawasannya mempunyai warisan kebudayaan yang penting, dia boleh melalui notis secara bertulis menghendaki orang yang mempunyai milikan objek itu menghantarkan objek itu kepadanya dengan serta-merta, dan Pegawai Daerah itu apabila menerima objek itu hendaklah memberikan pengakuterimaan bertulis dan hendaklah menyimpan objek tersebut dengan selamat.
(3) Pegawai Daerah hendaklah menyampaikan pemberitahuan di bawah subseksyen (1) atau notis bertulis di bawah subseksyen (2) kepada Pesuruhjaya secepat yang dapat dilaksanakan.
(4) Mana-mana ejen, kontraktor atau pelaksana bagi Kerajaan Persekutuan, Kerajaan Negeri atau pemunya tanah beri hakmilik yang menjumpai di tapak projek apa-apa objek yang dia mempunyai sebab untuk mempercayai bahawa objek itu mempunyai warisan kebudayaan yang penting, maka ejen, kontraktor atau pelaksana itu hendaklah melaporkan kepada Pesuruhjaya yang hendaklah dengan serta-merta memeriksa objek itu.
(5) Mana-mana orang yang melanggar subseksyen (1) atau (4) melakukan suatu kesalahan dan boleh apabila disabitkan didenda tidak melebihi lima puluh ribu ringgit atau dipenjarakan selama tempoh tidak melebihi lima tahun atau kedua-duanya.
