s 177 False or misleading statements, etc.
A person shall not make a statement, or disseminate information, that is false or misleading in a material particular and is likely to induce the sale or purchase of securities by other persons or is likely to have the effect of raising, lowering, maintaining or stabilising the market price of securities if, when he makes the statement or disseminates the information—
(a) he does not care whether the statement or information is true or false; or
(b) he knows or ought reasonably to have known that the statement or information is false or misleading in a material particular.

Pernyataan yang palsu atau mengelirukan, dsb.
Seseorang tidak boleh membuat suatu pernyataan, atau menyebarkan maklumat, yang palsu atau mengelirukan dalam butirbutir material dan yang berkemungkinan mendorong penjualan atau pembelian sekuriti oleh orang lain atau yang berkemungkinan mempunyai kesan menaikkan, menurunkan, mengekalkan atau menstabilkan harga pasaran bagi sekuriti itu jika, apabila dia membuat pernyataan atau menyebarkan maklumat itu—
(a) dia tidak mempedulikan sama ada pernyataan atau maklumat itu adalah benar atau palsu; atau
(b) dia mengetahui atau semunasabahnya patut mengetahui bahawa pernyataan atau maklumat itu adalah palsu atau mengelirukan dalam butir-butir material.
