East Coast Economic Region Development Council Act 2008 s 44

s 44 Offence for giving false or misleading information

(1) Any person who discloses or provides or causes any person to disclose or provide, information to the Council which he knows or has reason to believe is false or misleading commits an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding fifty thousand ringgit. (2) If any person who commits an offence under subsection (1) is one whose profession is regulated under any written law, he shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand ringgit. (3) Any body corporate which discloses or provides, or causes any person or body corporate to disclose or provide, information to the Council which the body corporate knows or has reason to believe is false or misleading commits an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding two hundred thousand ringgit.

Kesalahan kerana memberi maklumat palsu atau mengelirukan

(1) Mana-mana orang yang menzahirkan atau memberikan, atau menyebabkan mana-mana orang untuk menzahirkan atau memberikan, maklumat kepada Majlis yang diketahuinya atau yang dia mempunyai sebab untuk mempercayai adalah palsu atau mengelirukan melakukan suatu kesalahan dan boleh, apabila disabitkan, dikenakan denda tidak melebihi lima puluh ribu ringgit. (2) Jika seseorang yang melakukan suatu kesalahan di bawah subseksyen (1) ialah seorang yang profesionnya dikawal selia oleh mana-mana undang-undang bertulis, dia boleh, apabila disabitkan, dikenakan denda tidak melebihi satu ratus ribu ringgit. (3) Mana-mana pertubuhan perbadanan yang menzahirkan atau memberikan, atau menyebabkan mana-mana orang atau pertubuhan perbadanan untuk menzahirkan atau memberikan, maklumat kepada Majlis yang diketahuinya atau yang pertubuhan perbadanan itu mempunyai sebab untuk mempercayai adalah palsu atau mengelirukan melakukan suatu kesalahan dan boleh, apabila disabitkan, dikenakan denda tidak melebihi dua ratus ribu ringgit.
