s 3 National Veterans Council
(1) A body to be known as the National Veterans Council shall be established for the purpose of this Act.
(2) The Council shall consist of the following members:
(a) the Minister who shall be the Chairman;
(b) the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence who shall be the Deputy Chairman;
(c) the Director General of the Malaysian Armed Forces Veterans Affairs Department who shall be the Secretary;
(d) the Assistant Chief of Staff (Personnel Services) of the Malaysian Armed Forces Headquarters; and
(e) not more than five persons, at least two of them are veterans who have the experience, knowledge or expertise in matters relating to veterans’ affairs to be appointed by the Minister.
(3) A member of the Council appointed under paragraph
(2)(e) shall, unless he sooner resigns or vacates his office or his appointment is sooner revoked, hold office for a term not exceeding two years and is eligible for reappointment for a term not exceeding two consecutive terms.

Majlis Veteran Kebangsaan
(1) Suatu badan yang dikenali sebagai Majlis Veteran Kebangsaan hendaklah ditubuhkan bagi maksud Akta ini.
(2) Majlis hendaklah terdiri daripada anggota yang berikut:
(a) Menteri yang hendaklah menjadi Pengerusi;
(b) Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Pertahanan yang hendaklah menjadi Timbalan Pengerusi;
(c) Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Hal Ehwal Veteran Angkatan Tentera Malaysia yang hendaklah menjadi Setiausaha;
(d) Assisten Ketua Staf (Perkhidmatan Anggota) Markas Angkatan Tentera Malaysia; dan
(e) tidak lebih daripada lima orang, sekurang-kurangnya dua orang daripada mereka ialah veteran, yang mempunyai pengalaman, pengetahuan atau kepakaran dalam perkara yang berhubungan dengan hal ehwal veteran yang hendaklah dilantik oleh Menteri.
(3) Seorang anggota Majlis yang dilantik di bawah perenggan
(2)(e) hendaklah, melainkan jika dia terlebih dahulu meletakkan atau mengosongkan jawatannya atau pelantikannya terlebih dahulu dibatalkan, memegang jawatan selama tempoh yang tidak melebihi dua tahun dan layak untuk dilantik semula bagi tempoh yang tidak melebihi dua penggal berturut-turut.
