Mediation Act 2012 s 9
(1) A mediator shall facilitate a mediation and determine the manner in which the mediation is to be conducted. (2) A mediator may assist the parties to reach a satisfactory resolution of the dispute and suggest options for the settlement of the dispute. (3) For the purposes of subsection (1), the mediator shall act independently and impartially.
Peranan pengantara
(1) Pengantara hendaklah memudahkan pengantaraan dan menentukan cara pengantaraan akan dijalankan. (2) Pengantara boleh membantu pihak-pihak untuk mencapai penyelesaian yang memuaskan bagi pertikaian itu dan mencadangkan opsyen bagi penyelesaian pertikaian itu. (3) Bagi maksud subseksyen (1), pengantara hendaklah bertindak secara bebas dan saksama.
