s 29 Powers of police to investigate

(1) When a police officer not below the rank of Inspector has reason to believe that grounds exist which would justify the holding of an inquiry into the case of any person under this Act, he or any police officer subordinate to him and acting under his orders may investigate the facts and circumstances of the case so far as they may be relevant to any proceedings in respect of that person under this Act. (2) In making any investigation under subsection (1), a police officer may exercise all or any of the powers in relation to police investigations in any seizable case which are given to him by the law for the time being in force relating to criminal procedure.

Kuasa polis untuk menyiasat

(1) Apabila seseorang pegawai polis berpangkat tidak rendah daripada Inspektor mempunyai sebab untuk mempercayai bahawa terdapat alasan yang menjustifikasikan siasatan diadakan mengenai kes mana-mana orang di bawah Akta ini, pegawai polis itu atau mana-mana pegawai polis yang berpangkat lebih rendah daripadanya dan bertindak di bawah arahannya boleh menyiasat fakta dan hal keadaan kes itu setakat yang fakta dan hal keadaan itu berkaitan dengan mana-mana prosiding berkenaan dengan orang itu di bawah Akta ini. (2) Dalam membuat apa-apa penyiasatan di bawah subseksyen (1), seseorang pegawai polis boleh menjalankan semua atau manamana kuasa berhubung dengan penyiasatan polis dalam apa-apa kes boleh tangkap yang diberi kepadanya oleh undang-undang yang sedang berkuat kuasa yang berhubungan dengan tatacara jenayah.
