(1) A police officer may take or cause to be taken the photograph and finger impressions of any person arrested under subsection 3(1), or whose name is required to be entered in the Register under section 22, and shall send the photograph and impressions to the Registrar for identification and report; and every such person shall be legally bound to submit to the taking of his photographs and finger impressions, and may be compelled thereto by the use of force if necessary.
(2) Any person who, being legally bound under subsection (1) to submit to the taking of his photographs or finger impressions, refuses or fails to submit thereto on demand commits an offence and shall be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding two thousand ringgit or to both.
(3) Whenever—
(a) any person whose photograph and finger impressions have been taken under this section is released under section 4, 6 or 12; or
(b) the name of any person is removed from the Register under section 23,
the officer in charge of the case shall forthwith notify the Registrar of the release or removal, and the Registrar shall, upon the application of the person, deliver to that person the sheet upon which his finger impressions have been made, together with the negative and all copies of any photograph taken of him and forwarded to the Registrar under this section.

Pengambilan gambar foto dan cap jari
(1) Seseorang pegawai polis boleh mengambil atau menyebabkan supaya diambil gambar foto dan cap jari mana-mana orang yang ditangkap di bawah subseksyen 3(1), atau yang namanya dikehendaki dicatatkan dalam Daftar di bawah seksyen 22, dan hendaklah menghantar gambar foto dan cap jari itu kepada Pendaftar untuk pengenalpastian dan laporan; dan tiap-tiap orang sedemikian adalah terikat di sisi undang-undang supaya patuh kepada pengambilan gambar foto dan cap jarinya, dan boleh dipaksa bagi maksud itu dengan menggunakan kekerasan jika perlu.
(2) Mana-mana orang yang, semasa terikat di sisi undang-undang di bawah subseksyen (1) supaya patuh kepada pengambilan gambar fotonya atau cap jarinya, enggan atau tidak patuh kepadanya apabila diminta melakukan suatu kesalahan dan hendaklah dihukum dengan pemenjaraan selama tempoh yang tidak melebihi enam bulan atau denda tidak melebihi dua ribu ringgit atau kedua-duanya.
(3) Bilamana—
(a) mana-mana orang yang gambar foto dan cap jarinya telah diambil di bawah seksyen ini dilepaskan di bawah seksyen 4, 6 atau 12; atau
(b) nama mana-mana orang dihapuskan daripada Daftar di bawah seksyen 23,
pegawai yang bertanggungjawab bagi kes itu hendaklah dengan segera memberitahu Pendaftar mengenai pelepasan atau penghapusan itu, dan Pendaftar hendaklah, atas permohonan orang itu, menghantar serah kepada orang itu lembaran yang di atasnya cap jarinya telah dibuat, berserta negatif dan semua salinan apa-apa gambar foto orang itu yang telah diambil dan dihantar kepada Pendaftar di bawah seksyen ini.
